Half Acre Daisy Cutter Pale Ale
One of my favorite beers from Chicago, a real treat to have a 4 pack of this in LA. It pours a really nice honey orange color and a nice 3 finger fluffy white head. It sports a hazy complexion but still transparant, only a handful of bubbles rising to the top of the glass, the head has decent retention, but leaves behind a lot of spotted lacing. Big floral hop aroma storms out of the glass, big citrus notes, grassy layers with faint pine, really dank aroma that is very earthy while remaining light and rather whimsical. The flavors are a bit tamer than the nose, citrus hops with some faint pine, but much earthier with a significant grain component that is almost completely absent from the nose. Nice body, definitely on the lighter side but still full enough to satisfy the palette.
Verdict: Really solid pale ale, great for almost any scenario, wonderful aroma, nice flavors. One I’ve been known to enjoy many of in a singe night. (4.33/5)
